Jenny's Journey

I did not start my career with the vision of promoting seminars. In fact, I thought I'd end up in book publishing or journalism. My love of research and wordsmithing guided me to earn a journalism degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison — even though I was definitely not gifted with the personality to thrive in that field. (I earned a second degree in political science for the simple reason my advisor told me there was no way I could get it done before graduation … and apparently, I’m motivated by being telling me I can’t do something!)

Soon after graduation, I attended a writers conference at the UW. During one of the time slots, none of the sessions sounded any more appealing than the others. So I stepped into the nearest doorway … and my purpose became clear. I was meant to be a copywriter.

I spent 6 years working in the not-for-profit world, where I first got a taste of promoting events and information products.

Then, on a bit of a whim (and with the full support of my amazing husband), I quit my job and started freelance copywriting full-time.

One of the first programs I invested in was the Guerrilla Marketing Coach Certification program. I learned the importance of investing your time and creativity when you don't have a big marketing budget.

More importantly, I met my first marketing mentor ... digital marketing pioneer Alex Mandossian, creator of Teleseminar Secrets, and founder and CEO of MarketingOnline.com
